Meet Dr. Golovan
Dr. Gary Golovan
Dr. Gary Golovan is a lifelong resident of Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up working in his father's dental practice and has always been interested in the art and science of improving one's smile and the positive changes that occur as a result of orthodontic treatment.
He received both his Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Golovan completed his residency and received his Specialty Certification and Master of Science degree in Orthodontics from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Golovan graduated as the CWRU School of Dentistry Class of 1987 Valedictorian. Upon graduation he received numerous distinctions and honors. These included the Alpha Omega Scholarship Award, Callahan Prize, J.B. Lipponcott Award, American Association of Orthodontists Award, and election to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. He held a faculty position at CWRU School of Dentistry as an assistant clinical professor in the department of Orthodontics from 1990-2000. His professional affiliations include membership in the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Cleveland Dental Society, American Association of Orthodontists, Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists, and the Cleveland Orthodontic Society. Dr. Golovan believes in staying in the forefront of clinical and technological advancements in orthodontics by attending numerous educational courses during the year.
Dr. Golovan has been in private practice since 1989. He enjoys getting to know each of his patients and seeing the beautiful smiles that are created at the completion of treatment. He makes every effort to ensure that your orthodontic experience is a positive one in which the benefits can be enjoyed for many years to come. His philosophy is to treat patients in a warm, fun, and caring environment. As he says, "nothing is more rewarding than helping kids, especially helping them feel a little bit better about themselves. It inspires me every day."
Dr. Golovan resides in Pepper Pike, Ohio with his wife, Karen. In his spare time, he enjoys being with his family, all sports depending on the season, playing golf, and collecting and creating art and sculpture.
